Mitt Romney is a study in opportunism and prevarication. His ability to veer haphazardly into different directions would make a hummingbird jealous. He wants it both ways. He has flip-flopped on positions such as abortion, gun rights, immigration and personal mandates for health insurance so frequently that nobody knows what he believes.

He is also one of the very privileged top 1% who makes substantially more money than 99% of Americans while he pays the tax rate that someone who earns less than $50,000 per year would pay.
At the last GOP debate in Florida, moderator Wolf Blitzer asked Romney, “You’ve had an ad running saying that Speaker Gingrich called Spanish – quote – ‘The language of the ghetto.’ What do you mean by that?”
Romney’s answer was one of the most confusing, convoluted, non-responsive bits of gibberish anyone has heard in a long time.
He said, “I haven’t seen the ad, so I’m sorry, I don’t get to see all the TV ads. Did he say that? Did you say that? I doubt that’s my ad, but we’ll take a look and find out…Let me ask the speaker a question. Did you say what the ad says or not? I don’t know.”
Unfortunately for Romney, he was not given the opportunity to take a look and find out. Blitzer immediately performed a fact-check and told Romney, “We did double check. It is one of your ads. it’s running here in Florida on the radio and at the end you say (in Spanish) ‘I’m Mitt Romney and I approve this message.’”
Ooo! Ouch!
Is Mitt Romney dishonest, stupid or both? Did he intentionally mislead the debate audience when he said, “I doubt that’s my ad”? More than likely, since he did after all, take the time to learn how to say, “I’m Mitt Romney and I approve this message” in Spanish. Maybe Mitt Romney is just stupid. Perhaps he agreed to place his stamp of approval on an ad that he never took the time to review beforehand. Maybe Romney just has a very poor memory and could not recall producing the ad in question.

Whatever the true answer may be, it does not reflect kindly upon a man who wants to be President of the United States of America. Our nation deserves much more from our Chief Executive.

What the artist sees..

...is certainly not what the rest of us sees.
An interesting story regarding the painting of day laborers in LA.
I suppose some see this as intrusive into the cultural worlds of those that can afford the buy the paintings.
It's an age old argument, depicting the daily lives of those below the class of those that can afford the luxury of a painting.
Some artist artists are over rated and it takes the opinion of an art critic to explain the appeal of the "genius" behind the work. In this case the paintings are rudimentary at best, and not really doing justice to the subject.
I suppose the appeal is in the subject matter and in the dignity of the subject.
At any rate it's all a matter of whether or not these painting sell.
I suppose I would have done just as well painting workers from the freezer in Santa Maria, hey, that's a good idea.

John Sonsini, a Los Angeles-based painter, has created a wonderful series of portraits of Mexican day workers, whom he paid their usual hourly wages to pose in his studio, fully clothed in straightforward standing or seated positions. Some canvases present single figures, some groups of as many as six men.
Mr. Sonsini paints with wide brushes and lusciously thick, richly colored paint. He is not an artist for whom the portrait is simply a convenient armature for adventures in pure painting. He saves the empty backgrounds for expressionistic improvisation in glowing pastel pinks, powder blues and pale yellows.

However the article from the Huffington Post goes into detail regarding the fact Brazil's population has gained a bit of weight.
OK, they've gained a lot of weight.

However the overweight are not to be denied, they're philosophy is: "A bikini for every body!"

Linette Kossow's Chicago apartment has been burglarized and her email hacked. Then early Friday morning, a man on the 36/Broadway CTA bus downtown snatched her wallet from her shoulder bag and fled out the rear door.
Kossow hesitated for only a moment. Fed up with feeling helpless and preyed upon, she said, she snapped — and took off after the burly thief.
That would have pissed me off royally.
"I had a lot of bad things happen, and I was just done," said Kossow, 50. "I was just frustrated. I was tired of being a victim."
Good for you Linette, you are brave not to mention very cool to do this.
The risk was great, the reward even better.

Alaska Airlines

Well, Hallelujah and distribute the ACLU cards. Alaska Airlines announced that it would end a decades-old tradition of handing out prayer cards with its in-flight meals.
The airline began offering prayer cards in the 1970s after an executive spotted them on another airline. They were intended to serve as a marketing strategy and to put passengers at ease.
In an email to their frequent fliers, Alaska Air Group Chairman, CEO Bill Ayer and Alaska Airlines President Brad Tilden wrote, "This difficult decision was not made lightly. We believe it's the right thing to do in order to respect the diverse religious beliefs and cultural attitudes of all our customers and employees. Religious beliefs are deeply personal and sharing them with others is an individual choice."
As expected, the change prompted complaints on the airline's Facebook page from people expressing disappointment with the change.
Yeah? Well then, they can bring their own prayer cards.
Alaska Airlines made this decision last fall, after reviewing an increase in complaints. Spokeswoman Bobbie Egan, "The idea of removing the card had come up several times over the past few years and prompted thoughtful discussion. When the issue came up again last fall, after carefully considering all sides, it was agreed that eliminating the card was simply the right thing to do. Over the years, we've received comments from customers who were comforted by the card, but many others felt as though religion was not appropriate on an airplane and preferred not to receive one."

Naturally, right on cue, Caribou Barbie puffed up and launched into one of her usually idiotic whines.
She collected her crayons and wrote to Alaska Airlines, her favorite carrier, to complain about a decision to end its practice of giving passengers prayer cards during flights.
Calling the decision “nonsensical,” she said it was the latest example of how it had become “hip to wage war on American traditions lately.”

This sonsa says that giving every passenger a Christian prayer card is all about religious freedom. "Religious freedom" huh? I'm curious what she'd say if the head of the airline became a Muslim and decided to give out Islamic verses instead.
Am I taking crazy pills? Am I wrong to believe that this country, being the land of the free and all, allows and defends religious freedom? Evidently in this sonsa's feeble brain, America is the place where everyone is forced to observe the Christian faith. Isn't this type of extremism what the Taliban are so famous for? Yep, this doesn't sound very free to me.
She's so full of shit. The only nonsensical thing I see here is her being given media coverage.

The police don't like it but what the hell, it's their thing right?
Beside the fact it's cold in the Ukraine, one might admire their willingness to strip for their righteous causes.
DAVOS, Switzerland — Three topless Ukrainian protesters were detained Saturday while trying to break into an invitation-only gathering of international CEOs and political leaders to call attention to the needs of the world's poor. Separately, demonstrators from the Occupy movement marched to the edge of the gathering.
Thank goodness they're easy on the eyes.
I ain't saying women with less than pleasant upper bodies can't protest however if they're difficult to look at the message becomes about something else.
After a complicated journey to reach the heavily guarded Swiss resort town of Davos, the Ukrainians arrived at the entrance to the complex where the World Economic Forum takes place every year.
Still they have plenty of nerve and commitment don't they?
With temperatures around freezing in the snow-filled town, they took off their tops and tried to climb a fence before being detained. "Crisis! Made in Davos," read one message painted across a protester's torso, while others held banners that said "Poor, because of you" and "Gangsters party in Davos."
So they froze their titties to make a point.

Bad Habits

Most people would say anything to avoid being locked up, but a Utah woman served up a doozy for officers who suspected her of shoplifting.

This is Leah Efay Davis. She gave herself a five-fingered discount on $600 worth of merchandise at a J.C. Penny store at the Provo Towne Centre Mall in Provo, Utah on New Year's Eve.

She was stopped the store with her ill-gotten gains. The officers escorted her back into the store and found purses and four pairs of pajamas in her shopping bag.

When she was asked what her name was, she told the officers that she was Rudy Huxtable from The Cosby Show, and that she owned the mall.

Okay then.

The really bad news for her was that she was well known to cops.

She was arrested twice last year for numerous charges that including shoplifting and trespassing. In fact, she had already been banned from that mall due as a result of her previous shoplifting habits.

She also told the cops she was eight months pregnant. Despite that, she was charged with retail theft and criminal trespass, jailed and held on $5,000 bail.

Considering her love of shoplifting this latest charge was upped to a felony. Her next gig just might be a long stint in prison.

Resisting arrest might just be the last thing you do

Here's today's lesson boys and girls: When the cops come for you, if you resist arrest, or pull a gun, you will be shot dead, even if you're a cop.

A Santa Maria police officer was under investigation for some minor misconduct that wasn’t serious enough to suspend him. In the course of that investigation, they uncovered even better information about sexual misconduct with a 17 year old girl, so a decision was made to arrest the officer immediately. This occurred at about 1am Saturday morning where he was still on duty at a DUI checkpoint. Apparently they considered him to be a flight risk? Well, he was shot dead by a fellow officer, so that's no longer an issue.

I drove through that area at 6am, on my way out of town for the day and the police tape was still up, and stayed up until noon. Bet the businesses loved that action.
Santa Maria police Chief Danny Macagni said the officer, a four-year department veteran, had just learned of the internal investigation of the sexual relationship with the girl, and it became necessary to arrest him immediately.
He resisted arrest when two supervisors arrived, first putting up a physical fight, then pulling and firing his gun but hitting no one.
Several officers came to help the police making the arrest, and one of them shot the suspected officer in the chest once.

These cops don't carry Tasers?
At a news conference Macagni said, "He chose to resist, to remove his weapon. We're saddened by the whole incident."
The officer who filed the fatal shot, a department veteran of about eight years, has been placed on administrative leave, and the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department was investigating the shooting. Both moves are customary in shootings involving police.
The name of the officer killed has not been released because some family members were still being notified, and the name of the officer who fired the shot was withheld while the incident was under investigation.

I'm certainly not trying to be this guy's lawyer, nor am I excusing him, but I know what some 17 year old girls are capable of. Again, don't these cops carry Tasers?

The Truth About The Mess We're In

Whenever the GOPs start whining about spending by President Barack Obama, someone needs to quickly sweep the cobwebs out of their heads and then pull them out of their asses so that they can see the reality of the situation.
The New York Times attempts to answer everyone's question about how our economy ended up in the toilet by way of the massive deficit.
This report took the spending habits that the pinhead exhibited, and compared them to those of President Obama, from his inauguration in 2009 and projected through 2017.
Well, the result was no surprise to me, but then I've got my eyeballs open. Despite what GOPs and the Uptight Squad think, the pinhead out-spent Barack Obama by more than 2 to 1.
When President Clinton left office in 2001, the pinhead inherited a surplus, one that was projected to be over a trillion dollars for the next decade if the Clinton policies remained in effect. The chart below, which took information from The Congressional Budget Office and The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, tells the story of the pinhead and his spending ways, and how he turned a surplus into a deficit beginning in 2002, and how that deficit grew each year until he left office in 2009.

The truth is that the pinhead took an actual surplus of $127 billion in 2001, and turned it into a deficit of $319 billion in 2005. His total in new spending equaled over $5 trillion. This figure dwarfs the $1.44 trillion in new spending President Obama is expected to make through two terms ending in 2017.
It should be noted that the biggest spending spree the pinhead and the GOPs went on, according to these figures from the Congressional Budget Office, were his Tax Cuts. The New York Times report puts it this way; “If all of them [Tax Cuts] expired as scheduled at the end of 2012, future deficits would be cut by about half, to sustainable levels.”

All of this tells me that the GOPs in Congress and especially those with presidential ambitions are a herd of lying liars.

Newt and Callista Gingrich, are a couple of con artists pulling a multi-million dollar job on their supporters and on the shockingly naive cable media that keep taking him seriously for no good reason. After all, this pig is a serial adulterer. draft dodger, deadbeat dad, narcissistic misogynist and one of the sleaziest corporate puppets to ever slime the stage.
Despite his baggage, this lizard is now neck and neck with Mitt Romney to become the leading GOP trying to beat President Obama in 2012.
Now that this reptile is in the spotlight, every stupid thing that he has said is coming back to bite him on his ample ass.
For example, when he tried to make the case against bi-lingual education at a National Federation of Republican Women event in 2007. In his effort to garner the Hispanic vote, Gingrich said, "children should be taught the language of prosperity, not the language of living in a ghetto.”
Then, if that isn't enough to illustrate his arrogant hatefulness toward others there's his descriptions of himself:

"I’m not a natural leader. I’m too intellectual; I’m too abstract; I think too much.”
"The most serious, systematic revolutionary of modern times.”
"I have enormous personal ambition. I want to shift the entire planet. And I’m doing it. I am now a famous person. I represent real power.”
"I read 'Men Who Hate Women and the Women Who Love Them' and I found frightening pieces that related to my own life.”
"It doesn’t matter what I do. People need to hear what I have to say. There’s no one else who can say what I can say. It doesn’t matter what I live.”

After divorcing his first wife he said to a friend: "She's not young enough or pretty enough to be the wife of a President. And besides, she has cancer.'"

Obviously, the man is a pig. His own words give all of us a very good idea of what kind of person and politician he is. He is a hateful, vile, nasty, despicable, hypocritical, arrogant philistine who is personally and professionally unqualified to be President.
Clearly, he's nuts. No, that's too mild, he's bat shit crazy.

What else could explain his Mops for Tots program. This blankethead's idea is to teach poor children a proper work ethic by putting them to work as school janitors at age 9 or so. That right there is pretty bad, yet not surprisingly he came up with even dumber ideas.

As president he would call judges who hand down controversial opinions to appear before Congress to answer for their transgressions and would send federal law enforcement to arrest judges failed to appear. With that idiocy, he removed all doubts to the contrary. He’s nuts. And, by the transitive properties of political algebra, anyone who votes for him in a primary is nuts, too.

Michelle Obama

Bill Maxwell is an opinion columnist for the Tampa Bay Times.

He has written an excellent piece on Michelle Obama. He says, "First lady Michelle Obama is described as a strong-willed, highly intelligent spouse who works behind the scenes to protect the president's agenda. It shows a loving mother trying to ensure that her two daughters remain as normal as possible while living in Washington's harsh spotlight."
He writes that he came away with a better understanding of the Obama's as well as a higher regard for her.
Then of course, he mentions the addle-headed right wing purveyors of hate who love to spew poison at anyone who doesn't look like them, think like them or talk like them.
For example, the slob Rush Limbaugh, who claims that Michelle is angry, but pretends that she isn't. As if he knew anything about who she is or how or why she feels the way that she does.
An arrogant vile slob he is.
Then there's radio host and tea party activist David Webb, who is black. He says that "Michelle Obama comes from a very angry, black nationalist background."
Incredibly, he got even stupider.
He further suggested that the first lady, who rose from modest means with the benefit of America's "enormous opportunities," should mind her words, that in her role as first lady, "it's un-American" for Michelle Obama to bring up racial issues at all. "The majority of Americans do not like that approach, this underhand way of doing things."
Amazingly this pendejo thinks that he can speak for "the majority of Americans." He is such a nitwit that he cannot comprehend that talking about race is NOT un-American. If it is, why does every single government form include a section asking what race or ethnicity you are?

The shocking surprise is that instead of holding her tongue, as she has done until now, the first lady is striking back. During a recent interview with Gayle King of CBS News about Kantor's book, Michelle Obama attacked the right wing's portrayal of her: "That's been an image people have tried to paint of me since the day Barack announced, that I'm some kind of angry black woman. … There will always be people who don't like me."
Predictably, Limbaugh and Webb, are outraged that the first lady has the gall to stand up for herself and confront race so forthrightly, to use the words "angry black woman."
Maxwell writes: Here is my take. The first lady and the president have been models of civility and restraint in dealing with matters of race. They are loath to play the so-called race card. In fact, the Obamas always have been forced into racial confrontations.
If the first lady is an angry black woman, she has every right to be. Conservative white and black Americans are hypocrites if they say otherwise.
Although intellectually gifted in high school, Michelle Obama listened to an adviser discourage her from applying to Princeton University. She went anyway and graduated from Princeton with honors. When she applied to Harvard Law School, race became an issue again when counselors told her she would never make it at the premier school. She excelled at Harvard.
That right there might be what pisses off the racists.
Michelle Obama feels the hurt of race, not to mention gender, every day. It is an unavoidable part of her life. If she is an angry black woman, she earned it the hard way right here in the United States of America.
Bottom line for most of these entitled nitwits is this: Blacks and people of color can excel in sports, the entertainment field in Hollywood or with music. What they cannot do is excel in areas that were once held by whites only. This chutzpah leads to chaos in their feeble little minds and makes them crap their pants.

S.W.A.T.

I always thought that when a police department's S.W.A.T. was called out, it was for definite and proven situations that included hostages, bombs, flame throwers, or other extreme threats.
Turns out, the police department in Buffalo, New York marches to a different drum. In that neck of the woods, S.W.A.T. gets deployed when a woman calls to report that her intoxicated son is causing a disturbance. There was also the possibility that he was holding two hostages. Over there I guess they don't verify if people are being held hostage.
Perhaps they needed practice, yes?
In any case, the woman said that she believed her son to be armed.
So, the cops showed up, surrounded the house and evacuated the neighbors.
They then ordered the man via bullhorn to drop his weapons and come out, but nothing happened. The police stood watch from 5:45 a.m. until they finally reached him at 10:45 a.m. on his cell phone. He then stepped out as requested.
The reason he had not heard the commotion or responded to the repeated requests to surrender was that he was asleep. He was also alone.
Police Captain Jonathan Scott said, "It was just a guy who had too much to drink. We thought there was a hostage situation in there, and it turns out there wasn't."
Still, the unnamed man, who is on leave from the Marines after serving in Iraq, was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and taken for a mental examination.
Interesting. They felt it was prudent to charge a sleepy war veteran with a crime while letting the mother go free.
I don't know about anyone else, but to me, that sound nuts.

.....meet one Jose Ismel Loria Ancona, a business owner from Playa Del Carmen that went through the full range of human emotions when he was pulled over by Mexican police officers.
He's memeishly being called the "Gentleman de Playa Del Carmen" after the famed "Ladies De Polanco" -- except that Jose seems crazier.
Namedropping Zetas and politicos, his rant is the most hyperbolic one I've heard so far.
We featured the Ladies of Polanco here as well, they were charmers too.

His wife is equally nutty, and she has a dirty mouth.

East Haven cops screwed the pooch

The FBI has arrested four assholes in East Haven, Connecticut. Oops, I meant to say police officers on charges that they used excessive force against illegal immigrants and then covered up the abuses.
The jackasses dressed up as police officers were Dennis Spaulding, David Cari and Jason Zullo. Their apparent leader was Sgt. John Miller, who just happens to be the president of the police union. Each has been charged with conspiracy against rights, which carries a maximum prison term of 10 years. Some of them also face charges including deprivation of rights, obstruction of justice and use of unreasonable force.
Apparently this was the result of a federal investigation that began in 2009 and found that these assholes made life miserable for Hispanics. The investigation found a pattern of discrimination and biased policing.
They are facing charges that they assaulted people while in handcuffs, searched Latino businesses without provocation, harassed and intimidated people, including their advocates or witnesses and other officers who tried to investigate or report misconduct or abuse the officers committed.
The U.S. attorney for Connecticut, David Fein, said the criminal investigation is not over. They're still looking at other people and urged tipsters to contact the FBI.
Janice Fedarcyk, assistant director of the New York office of the FBI said, "In simple terms, these defendants behaved like bullies with badges."
This is exactly the type of behavior that paints every single cop as bad. I know there are good ones out there, I've dealt with them, so this really, really, really pisses me off.
Federal officials say the officers denied Latino residents and their advocates the right to be free of unreasonable searches and seizures, the right to not be arrested and detained without probable cause and the right to not be arrested on false and misleading evidence.
Nearly half or a third of the drivers pulled over by certain officers were Latino, and the number of Latinos pulled over by certain squads was "extraordinarily high," said Roy Austin Jr., deputy assistant attorney general for the civil rights division. Latinos who were stopped for minor violations were subjected to harsher punishments, such as arrest or vehicle towing, than were non-Latinos.
When this kind of crap is going on, how can so many people claim that we are in a post-racial America? Assholes.

Actual Dumbest Mayor Ever Will Help Latinos by Maybe Eating Tacos
There's nothing funny, at all, about the years of civil rights violations that took place in East Haven, Conn., where four officers were arrested yesterday for routinely abusing their power and intimidating Latinos who entered the suburb.
What is funny is this video of idiot East Haven Mayor Joseph Maturo telling WPIX reporter Mario Diaz "I might have tacos when I go home" in response to the question "what are you doing for the Latino community today?" It's like the best episode of The Office ever, except that it represents a real-life top-down culture of ugly racist incompetence instead of a cute fictional world of good intentions and happy endings.
America will change but not in my lifetime.
The change will come because it is inevitable, many gringos are trying to push back the tide, it's too late for that.
America will reflect its Latino citizens and the mainstreamers will simply have to share their space and wealth.
Rather like the Indians had to change, but without the genocide.
Take heart America, the Indios did survive, so will you.

Big box stores and their low prices on their oftentimes equally low quality stuff have been famous for crushing the little independently owned stores out there.
The trouncing that these businesses have taken is why this article about the family-owned Chagrin Hardware is so good.
Jim Black, a resident of Chagrin Falls, Ohio got the ball rolling by sending emails to 40 friends.
He wrote, "Let's show our support for one of our local businesses. I challenge everyone to spend AT LEAST $20 at the hardware on the 21st."
He says that it wasn't meant as a protest against the big-box stores that have created an ever-tightening circle around the community. It was just a way to thank Chagrin Hardware's owners for a beloved shop that has been a fixture in the village since 1857.
He added, "These are good people who needed our support. It's just that simple."
The store has been run by the Shutts family for the last 72 years. It passed from uncle to father to older brothers Rob and Kenny and the three youngest, Steve, Susie and Jack, who run the store today.
Black's note was forwarded and forwarded and forwarded again. Calls started coming in from folks out of state who wanted to make a purchase over the phone.
The store has seen its share of tough times. Road construction on Main Street at the store's front door some years back crippled business for a time. More recently, the weakened economy and the big boxes have stolen away customers.
By 10 a.m. the place was jammed. By 1:30 p.m., the credit card machine was overloaded and had to be reset. "This is so cool," said Steve Shutts, a mix of joy, wonder and happy exhaustion spread across his face. "I've seen people today I haven't seen in years."
When the final customer had finally left well after closing time with her fuzzy dice and floodlights, Schwind and Steve Shutts tallied the day's receipts. Shutts shook his head at the wild and unexpected ride.
He wouldn't say how much the store made that day, but was clearly pleased with the outcome.
"Thanks to Jimmy Black," he said. "Thanks to everyone. Thanks to Chagrin Falls.
"What a place to live."

Personally I love these photos as you can see there is someone for everyone.

So then, I guess Aretha isn't going to be planning a wedding any time soon. Good thing too because I just don't know where Vera Wang Donna Karan could possibly obtain enough silk to build a wedding dress for her.
Oh alright, yes that was mean, but look at her and tell me I'm lying.
So anyways, word is that she has called off her engagement to Willie Wilkerson.
Aretha said, "Will and I have decided we were moving a little too fast, and there were a number of things that had not been thought through thoroughly. There will be no wedding at this time. We will not comment on it any further because of the very personal and sensitive nature of it. We appreciate all of the many well wishes from friends."
It was only three weeks ago that she announced that they were very compatible and that he had given her "specialized attention that she hadn't received from anyone else."
Clearly, she's never been audited, or met an IRS agent.

I do, a few weeks ago FBD* turned me on to the site, or was it SBD**?
I forget.
Anyway it's a virtual pinboard, that is to say a social site where you can literally pin all of your ideas, hopes and dreams, pretty dresses, great hairdos, make-up ideas, food, home furnishing, secret crushes, and so forth, it is primarily used by women.
At first I was completely bamboozled by it, I couldn't figure it out.
Then I did, it was easy.
One must be invited to join so I asked FBD to invite me, then I invited reenee and Gigi's mother. So far they haven't joined but they will.
It's addicting let me just say, once I get into it I did it all the time, it's fun.
You can follow specific people and see what they pin and have a giant virtual bulletin board and see their ideas as well, it is most amusing.
I like it.
You can repin their pins as well, so you get a better knowledge of those you follow.

......Pinterest is a social network, like everything else one talks about on the internet nowadays. It's "a virtual pinboard" that "allows you to organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web." It is also mostly used by women who are between the ages of 28 and 34, according to their Compete demographics from like six months ago, which pegged 54 percent of its users as women—but it's probably even higher now, based on anecdotal evidence.
In other words, it's Tumblr for ladies*.
You have to access the Pinterest site through Facebook or Twitter, since I use neither one I had to join Twitter, it seemed less threatening than Facebook.

What pain?

According to a new study by Stanford University School of Medicine, women feel more pain than men. It was reported in the Journal of Pain, so that makes it true, right?
Yeah, I know, I laughed myself silly as well.
Let's put it this way: If men had to endure nine months of pregnancy and then had to force an eight pound object out of their bodies, it would not only be a national holiday, but there would have been maternity leave from the beginning of time.

Pain affects more than 116 million Americans annually and is a major cause of work disability and one of the most common reasons for taking medication, according to a 2011 Institute of Medicine report.
Of those Americans, about 50 million are women, according Campaign to End Chronic Pain in Women.
The study's authors cautioned that this study cannot determine whether pain is actually experienced more intensely by women or whether women simply communicate better with their health care providers about pain.
But many other medical experts are skeptical about the Stanford study. They say the authors didn't account for the possibility that if many women had additional diseases that caused pain, it could actually be the other diseases, and not their gender, which is responsible for the women having more pain than men.
Women routinely have more problems with their bodies, it's a fact. This is the reason they will always have higher health insurance premiums. That does NOT make them more susceptible to pain. They are however less likely to brush it off.

Women reported more intense pain than men in 14 of 47 disease categories. Men did not report more intense pain in any category. Women with musculoskeletal disorders such as back, neck and joint pain, sinusitis and even high blood pressure reported more intense pain then men with these conditions.

Well of course not. What kind of wuss would admit to pain, unless of course he's spurting arterial blood.
Dr. Timothy Collins, assistant clinical professor of neurology at Duke University Medical Center, said researchers should have added this caveat: "Men consistently report lower levels of pain compared to women. At least in the US, there is a culture expecting men to complain less, not admit to as much pain, where women are generally allowed to express pain and emotions connected with pain."
Then Dr. Carol Warfield, a specialist in anesthesia, critical care and pain medicine at Boston's Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center goes further.

She says, "There have been a number of reports indicating that in our society stoicism is often considered virtuous, especially in men. Therefore, men may be less likely to report high levels of pain even if they perceive them. In other words, men and women may experience the same levels of pain but women are more likely to actually admit that they have pain."
Well then, I guess that explains why some bozos will walk around with a fractured shoulder blade for three days without saying anything. Idiots.

For a bunch of people who worship the Founders and like to play dress-up American Revolutionary War, Tea Partyers sure hate knowing anything remotely reality-based about the Founding Fathers. Tennessee Tea Party groups have introduced a proposal to take what few minorities there are in American history textbooks out of American history textbooks, along with any negative portrayals of the wealthy white men who led this young nation in its infancy.
Wow, just wow.
At a press conference, two dozen activists presented their proposals — I’m sorry, their “demands” — for the new state legislative session. Among them are sweeping changes to school materials that they probably have not actually read.

Tea parties issue demands to Tennessee legislators
So this is essence is what they're whining about.

We seek to compel the teaching of students in Tennessee the truth regarding the history of our nation and the nature of its government.”
......The material calls for lawmakers to amend state laws governing school curriculums, and for textbook selection criteria to say that “No portrayal of minority experience in the history which actually occurred shall obscure the experience or contributions of the Founding Fathers, or the majority of citizens, including those who reached positions of leadership.”
So, if you discount the complaints of the troublesome minorities, education of the masses would just go that much smoother.
Fayette County attorney Hal Rounds, the group’s lead spokesman during the news conference, said the group wants to address “an awful lot of made-up criticism about, for instance, the founders intruding on the Indians or having slaves or being hypocrites in one way or another.
Because you see, wiping out the Indians and having slaves is really no big deal.
“The thing we need to focus on about the founders is that, given the social structure of their time, they were revolutionaries who brought liberty into a world where it hadn’t existed, to everybody — not all equally instantly — and it was their progress that we need to look at,” said Rounds...

The next time you want to give a party for your teen who has just graduated from high school, serve punch or soft drinks. If however, you're dumb enough to supply a keg of beer so that the kids will think you're cool, think again. I'm pretty sure that Susan Sanders-Watt is wishing she'd done different on June 26, 2010.
Four of the kids that attended the party drove away drunk and only got a mile away when they had an accident. Only one survived.
Now, the prosecutor is seeking a prison term for her.
She pleaded guilty Monday to four counts each of corruption of minors and reckless endangerment and 17 citations of serving alcohol to minors.
She wasn't charged with involuntary manslaughter, because prosecutors couldn't prove the beer she served caused the crash because the driver had been drinking at another location before the party.
According to District Attorney John Peck, Susan is facing 45 years in prison, but says she'll likely receive less under the state's guidelines. Nonetheless he's going to ask for jail time to send a message to the huddled masses.
The D.A. said, "We're recommending a period of incarceration because three people were killed as a result of consuming alcohol. I think adults have to realize there are going to be horrible consequences giving alcohol to minors."
That might be his intent, but I'm betting that those he wants to get the message aren't listening.

Defense attorney Scott Bitar said Sanders-Watt gave letters of condolence to the victims' families and will make a public statement about the incident when she's sentenced.
Yeah well, nice thought, but arranging to ferry them home would have been much more appreciated by the parents who lost those kids.

and 6) The America Ferrera look-alike, 23, on page #12 was arrested yesterday by Idaho cops on a failure to appear charge.
And it looks like #13 above got some licks in because she was arrested even though she's all bruised up.
She looks like she thought it was totally worth it.

When football trumps common sense...

...ugly things can and will happen. Just ask Joe Paterno. He coached Penn State for 46 seasons and won 409 games before being fired in November with three games left in the regular season. He was handed his walking papers due to the child sex-abuse scandal involving assistant Jerry Sandusky.
He lost his job, but he never faced the music.

Of course it can be argued that he's facing the music now...on a separate plane of existence.
His family announced his death with this statement:
"He died as he lived. He fought hard until the end, stayed positive, thought only of others and constantly reminded everyone of how blessed his life had been. His ambitions were far reaching, but he never believed he had to leave this Happy Valley to achieve them. He was a man devoted to his family, his university, his players and his community. His loss leaves a void in our lives that will never be filled."
Too bad that his "thinking only of others" didn't extend to the child who was being sexually abused on his watch.
Clearly he was of the mind that football was more important than anything else. That must be why he failed to go to the cops back in 2002 when he was told by then-graduate assistant Mike McQueary that he had seen Sandusky sexually abusing a young boy in a shower on campus.
In the only statement he gave about his egregious failings, he spewed this bullshit:

"I didn't know exactly how to handle it and I was afraid to do something that might jeopardize what the university procedure was. So I backed away and turned it over to some other people, people I thought would have a little more expertise than I did. It didn't work out that way."
All he had to do was to pick up the phone to call the cops. What he chose to do instead was to protect his "football legacy" because that was clearly more important to him than anything else in the world.
After taking over as head coach in 1966, Paterno went on to become the national personification of the college football coach and the public face of Penn State, which made his eventual fall all the more compelling.
In many eyes, the sordid scandal tarnished the legacy of Paterno, who spent 62 seasons on the Nittany Lions football staff and became the winningest Division I coach in the history of the sport.
Bottom line, all of the accolades and awards this misguided munchkin compiled is a pile of bullshit when compared to his inability to do the right thing.
About the fallout from the scandal, Steve Shaffer, a 30-year PSU season ticket holder, said it best with, "the whole thing is like finding out there's no Santa Claus."

A key player in the 1995 travesty of justice

Philip Vannatter, the Los Angeles police detective who served as a lead investigator in the 1994 murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman, died of complications from cancer. He was 70.
If you recall, he was among the first detectives on the scene at O.J. Simpson's Brentwood mansion in June 1994, following the stabbing deaths.
When Detective Vannatter testified at the subsequent trial, the defense tried to paint him as a liar. Their argument was that their search of the estate was illegal and that all evidence seized, the bloody glove, the bloody socks and the bloody drops should be thrown out because they had no right to be on the property. The defense consistently claimed that the cops were out to get Simpson.
The truth of the matter is that the defense lucked out to have drawn such a completely stupid jury. Of course having two idiots as prosecutors helped them as well.
On the witness stand, Vannatter sharply defended the actions of detectives at the crime scene. Two judges upheld the search on the basis of Vannatter's and other detectives' testimony that they were trying to inform Simpson of the death and that it became an emergency after blood was discovered on Simpson's Bronco and they feared people in Simpson's house might be injured.
The main reason I believe the cops on this is that they consistently gave Simpson a pass every time that Nicole called them about his habit of beating on her. Let's not forget that this jerk got away with his crap repeatedly.

About the entire case, Vannatter's brother Joe said, "He was very upbeat and he knew he did the right thing. He had such thick skin. They felt that they had the right person that committed this horrendous crime."
A 28-year veteran with the LAPD, where he spent most of his career as a homicide detective, Vannatter retired from the force in 1995 but continued on as a consultant for cold case murders.
He had planned to retire in late 1994 but due to the Simpson circus, it was delayed for more than a year. At the conclusion of the circus he expressed his disgust. I'm with him on that one.

A Mexican movie that at least sounds very good...

...I can't begin to tell you how many Mexican movies I have seen, all of this happened when I was a child so I was forced to go the the Mexican movies with my mother.
I did understand what I was watching unless the movie was adult then the nuances of language went over my head.
Some of the movies were terribly cheesey and the production values were not up to par. After watching American movies all my life my sensibilities were used to better let me just snobbily say.
After many years of watching Mexican movies I simply wrote them off as "B" grade and certainly not up to competition with good old american movies.
I did appreciate Italian movies, not many French movies and of course Spanish movies, the Cinema, as fans of European Cinemas refer to the movies.
The Italians were making good movies since 1945, take a look at Open City, wow. Anyway only lately has the Mexican Film industry become a force to reckon with.
It started with Like water For Chocolate, which was of course excellent. Many others followed and the directors of those movies has made their mark in Hollywood. Most notably Guillermo del Toro and Alfonso Cuaron.
Here is Mexico's latest movie looks pretty darn good. They have tackled a very difficult subject and have declared this is their submission to the Academy for the foreign film Oscar.
I may actually watch this.

Born Jamesetta Hawkins, on January 25, 1938, she died Friday, five days shy of her 74th birthday. She was an original wild child with an incredible singing voice that so many others can only dream of.
The winner of six Grammys, and ranked No. 22 on Rolling Stone's list of 100 greatest singers of all time, Etta James had a voice like a cool breeze on a summer day.

Ralphie goes to jail, part two...

I didn't really believe he would go.
Now he's on his way.
Too bad Ralphie, perhaps over a year in prison will teach you a lesson or two, and maybe your greedy bother will learn from your mistakes as well.
I hope this kills off your political career, you don't belong in public office, clearly you have no moral boundaries, that was evident in when you were in college, I knew sooner or later it would come to this.
Inzunza told to report to prison by Jan. 30
More than six years after a jury found him guilty of selling his San Diego City Council seat for campaign cash from a Las Vegas strip-club owner, Ralph Inzunza is heading off to prison.
“It’s time,” U.S. District Judge Jeffrey Miller said in a brief hearing on Friday, “to bring this matter to a close.”
"It's time", clearly that made his blood run cold.
Miller ordered Inzunza, 42, to report to a federal prison in Merced County by Jan. 30. There, at a minimum-security federal camp on the grounds of a larger, high-security federal penitentiary, Inzunza will begin serving a 21-month sentence.
We won't write Ralph, hopefully your wife will.
Once a rising star in local Democratic politics, Inzunza said nothing during the hearing, sitting with his hands folded in front of him at a table in the courtroom. More than a dozen supporters filled the seats behind him.
He has supporters?
More than likely his vast extended family. Good luck Inzunza's, what you learned from your father didn't serve you well.

The Test

I was a very happy man. My wonderful girlfriend and I had been dating for over a year, and so we decided to get married. There was only one little thing bothering me...It was her beautiful younger sister.

My prospective sister-in-law was twenty-two, wore very tight mini skirts, and generally was bra-less. She would regularly bend down when she was near me, and I always got more than a nice view. It had to be deliberate. Because she never did it when she was near anyone else.

One day 'little' sister called and asked me to come over to check the wedding invitations. She was alone when I arrived, and she whispered to me that she had feelings and desires for me that she couldn't overcome. She told me that she wanted me just once before I got married and committed my life to her sister.

Well, I was in total shock, and couldn't say a word.

She said, "I'm going upstairs to my bedroom, and if you want one last wild fling, just come up and get me."

I was stunned and frozen in shock as I watched her go up the stairs. I stood there for a moment, then turned and made a beeline straight to the front door. I opened the door, and headed straight towards my car...

Low and behold... my entire future family was standing outside, all clapping!

With tears in his eyes, my father-in-law hugged me and said, "We are very happy that you have passed our little test. We couldn't ask for a better man for our daughter. Welcome to the family."

Yuri Wright is a 17 year old high school senior at Don Bosco Prep, an all-boys private school in Bergen County, Ramsey, New Jersey. He has been touted as one of the best high school cornerbacks in the country. Naturally, with all of the attention he has had many offers and has spent loads of time trying to choose which college to grace with his presence. His top choices were Michigan, Notre Dame, Georgia, Colorado and Rutgers.
Well, that was the good news. Now the bad news. Due to his Twitter account, he's having to look for a new high school after being expelled.
Even worse, Michigan has pulled its offer - other schools were mulling doing so. Rutgers was supposed to host Wright this weekend, no word on whether or not that will happen.
It all happened after a series of offensive tweets that were sexually graphic and racially insensitive were discovered on his personal Twitter account.

Why don't people ever understand that once something is out in cyberspace, it's no longer "personal"?
Don Bosco head coach Greg Toal said, "He's a good kid and I think he has a bright college future and I wish him the best of luck. There is no question Don Bosco had to do what it had to do."
Wright is listed as the No. 85 overall recruit in the country in the final Rivals250 rankings. He is considered the seventh-best player at his position and third-best talent in the state of New Jersey.
Rivals.com national recruiting analyst Mike Farrell said, "To my knowledge this is the highest profile prospect to be dropped by a college program and expelled from school over Twitter. This has ruined Yuri's chance to attend the school he has labeled as his dream school in Michigan and it could cause other schools to back off as well. Hopefully this example will send a wake-up call to high profile prospects moving forward to watch what they put out in cyberspace."
Farrell said that Coach Toal has been preaching personal accountability for more than a decade - and about more than just social media.
He added, "Coach Toal teaches the kids more than just football. He's always teaching them about representing themselves and their school - on the field, on recruiting trips, on home visits by coaches. Don Bosco is the last place I would expect this to happen."
I think it's fair to say that the lessons didn't stick.

About Wright's prospects Farrell said, "From a college recruiting standpoint however, I don't expect this to keep Yuri Wright from being a major college football prospect. I know that two new schools jumped in on his recruitment Thursday night expecting a few others to drop out and I expect he will be heavily recruited up until Signing Day. I've followed kids who have done much, much worse in high school and still ended up earning college scholarships and going on to excellent careers. He did not commit a crime here while others have and still gone on to college."
The initial story was first published on Thursday on a Michigan fan site as an explanation for why the Wolverines had stopped recruiting the four-star defensive back. It has been met with some backlash as Wright's comments were pulled from a private - not public - Twitter account and intended for his own personal friends.
How personal can it be if his account had more than 1,500 followers? Because people dig the salacious so much, this will follow him everywhere.

Here's my question: Do all Transportation Security Administration agents have their heads up their asses or only the ones at the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport?

The reason I'm asking is due to the idiotic decisions that these people have been known to make. Confiscating cupcakes, tossing out baby formula, patting down an old lady in a wheelchair, and it goes on and on and on. Apparently while they're busy throwing their weight around hassling passengers they're overlooking fairly important clues.

For example this last episode that occurred at the Dallas/Fort Worth airport.

A 65-year-old woman made it past a checkpoint and onto a flight at the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport on Wednesday with a gun, and was only stopped after the plane was called back to the gate.

The weapon she was carrying was a .38-caliber revolver and it was in her handbag. She was to be charged with a state felony for carrying a weapon where prohibited.

Evidently airport police got a call from the TSA at about 6 am, asking for help locating the person who had gotten through the checkpoint but needed secondary screening.
So, if they knew someone got through with a weapon, why not confiscate it then? Anyone? Anyone?

Airport Department of Public Safety officers searched all five terminals and found the woman at about 8 am on board an American Airlines domestic flight that had been called back to the gate for inspection. A total of 10 flights were delayed an average of 20-25 minutes during the incident.

According to TSA, airport security officers found about four loaded guns per day at airport checkpoints last year. Most passengers said they had forgotten the weapons were in their bags.

Well of course they did. I usually always forgot I had a loaded gun when I was traveling with one. Idiots.

As 2012 begins, it is looking about as depressing as 2011. Obama is finally showing a little backbone, but it seems more like election year bullshit than anything real. I guess if he wins, will really see what he wants to do when he no longer has to worry about re-election.

He blogs irregularly, and has probably last the mojo for blogging, I can't say that I blame him, it gets really lonely at times.
I still don't feel that motivated to post much. Maybe that will change, maybe it won't. Maybe it won't matter since by now there's no one really checking on this. Number one rule of blogging is that you need to update regularly, really, daily.
Luckily the two of us blog for each other and that keeps us motivated.

Piggish behavior never goes unnoticed

Wow, here's a big non surprise that's known to everyone except for perhaps the mold growing on the dark side of the moon: Newt Gingrich lacks the moral character to serve as President.

This news flash came from his second ex-wife Marianne.

According to her, while he's dragging his fat skanky ass all over the country claiming positions on the sanctity of marriage and the importance of family values, she saw an altogether different side of him during her 18 years of marriage to this weasel.

They divorced in 1999, and although she's never spoken of him or their marriage, she gave an interview on Nightline yesterday.

Marianne said she wanted to speak so that voters would know what a sleazy piece of crap he is.

She said when Gingrich admitted to a six-year affair with a Congressional aide, he asked her if she would share him with the other woman, Callista, who is now married to him.

"And I just stared at him and he said, 'Callista doesn't care what I do.' He wanted an open marriage and I refused."

Marianne described her "shock" at Gingrich's behavior, including how she says she learned he conducted his affair with Callista "in my bedroom in our apartment in Washington."

All this happened, she said, during the same time Gingrich condemned President Bill Clinton for his lack of moral leadership. She said Newt moved for the divorce just months after she had been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

None of this should have shocked her since her relationship with him began while he was still married to his first wife. By the way, he divorced Jackie as she was being treated for cancer.

She also said that Newt began to plan a run for President at the time of their divorce and told her that Callista "was going to help him become President."

Considering that his two daughters from his first marriage said, "The failure of a marriage is a terrible and emotional experience for everyone involved" and added that they would not say anything negative about Marianne tells me that Marianne is very obviously speaking the truth.

Marianne also added that this pig has never expressed any such regrets or apologized to her, but then why would he? He's an entitled, hypocritical, racist philistine with no redeeming qualities.

Captain Knucklehead

Just last week I was saying that I'd more than likely never set foot on a cruise ship. Now, after seeing what the addle-headed captain of the Costa Concordia had to say about how he ended up on a life boat instead of staying on the ship to watch out for his passengers, I'm positive I never will.
During his first court hearing to explain the disaster, knucklehead Francesco Schettino claims that he "tripped and fell into the boat."
He said, "I was helping some passengers put the life boat to sea. At a certain point the mechanism for lowering it, blocked. We had to force it. Suddenly the system unblocked itself and I tripped and I found myself inside the life boat with a number of passengers."
Once in the lifeboat that was lowered into the sea, he insisted to the court that it was "impossible to go back onboard."
Schettino, who is currently under house arrest, is under investigation for potentially causing the wreck by steering into the rocks and then abandoning the panicked passengers for a lifeboat as the ship plunged over on its side. In recorded radio transmissions released Tuesday, Schettino is heard telling Italian Port Authority officials he and other officers abandoned ship.
The luxury cruise ship was carrying more than 4,000 passengers and crew when it struck rocks Friday evening. At least 11 people were killed in the aftermath when the ship keeled over. Nearly two dozen people are still missing.
Schettino reportedly admitted that he made mistakes that led to the crash and afterwards, but said the ship's course, including the now-controversial close pass, had been set from the beginning.
Worse, there's video proof that he lied when he assured officials that he had dropped anchor shortly after the Costa Concordia slammed into a rock to stabilize the luxury liner.

This guy is toast. With any luck he'll be criminally charged.

Not a tragedy

Gosh, it appears that O.J. Simpson is in danger of losing his house to foreclosure. Okay, let me take a moment here to convey my feelings: Boofuckinghoo. Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman lost their lives. In the scheme of things, the two lost lives is the tragedy here, not the loss of this demon's house.

Apparently JPMorgan Chase filed for foreclosure in September on his Miami digs. Simpson's attorney has since filed a motion to dismiss the case, but there has been no further action since November.
He paid $575,000 in 2000. Its current assessed value is $478,401, with property taxes of about $9,000. The 2011 taxes were paid in December.
Considering that Simpson is serving a nine-to-33-year prison sentence after being convicted of kidnapping, armed robbery and other charges, he's not able earn money in the manner he was accustomed to. I guess he's hoping to get back on track since he's appealing his conviction.
Yeah, good luck with getting hired anywhere since he's become a pariah after skating on two murders in 1995.

Simpson still has income from his NFL pension and another retirement account that is shielded under federal law from creditors, but I guess he's not interested in paying his mortgage.

As for any other earned income, a civil jury ordered him to pay $33.5 million to the Goldman family.
Simpson received $750,000 in 2007 for a book ghostwritten under his name titled "If I Did It." A Florida bankruptcy judge eventually awarded rights to the book to Goldman, who released it.

Amazingly, about 150,000 people actually bought this drivel.
About $350,000 of Simpson's money went to pay down a line of credit had tied to his Miami-area home. The bankruptcy trustee, however, filed a so-called clawback lawsuit against the bank that sought return of the money as ill-gotten gains. Cook said when the bank paid the money, Simpson's mortgage amount was raised to offset the cost. Residual payments from Simpson's movies, such as the "Naked Gun" series and "The Towering Inferno," go to the Goldmans.

Unfortunately for him, his completely controlling behavior and stupidity made him unable to leave his ex-wife alone and simply move on with his life. He screwed the pooch and is now paying for it. Too bad for him.

Arizona bans books...

So far the people of Arizona have decided Mexican's are superfluous to the success of the state.
Most of the voters in Arizona I dare say are old white Republicans. Why would they imagine Mexicans are the future of the state, further why educate Mexicans?
Those that are still there need to remain uneducated so they can be controlled. Someone needs to pick the produce and take care of grandma, God knows they won't do it.
After having abolished Mexican American Studies, destroying any semblance of so called Raza studies, they are not content to let it go at that, now books are banned that are seen as too subversive to be read by Mexican American students.
By the way the white studies in honors classes are allowed to read these books but not the Chicano kids, what's up with that?

1) The 23-year-old Arkansas multi-tasker on page #2 was arrested Sunday for drunk driving and texting while driving;
By the way, the goofball to the left was arrested for something called " Arrested on a domestic relations bench warrant."
Whatever that is I cannot say but by the looks of this pendejo he can't manage himself.
2) The marvelously coiffed Georgia man, 21, on page #5 was collared for obstructing officers;
Nice hair.
3) Popped on a theft charge, the 24-year-old Floridian on page #7 (conveniently already in stripes) had to show jailers the back of her hands;
And from the looks of this crew they're mostly a contemptuous lot, certainly surly and uncooperative, however #8 looks quite contrite.
A least she crying which means she either gets that she's in trouble or is merely upset she was busted. Either or, she just make learn something from this untimely bust.

and 4) The Georgia woman, 34, on page #11 was nabbed for driving with an invalid license.

When adoptions go wrong

While I can certainly understand the importance of understanding one's own roots, what happened to this 2 year old child and her adoptive parents was horrendous.
Veronica was legally adopted at birth, September 2009 by Matt and Melanie Capobianco of Charleston, South Carolina. Veronica's birth mother, Christina Maldonado, offered the child for adoption because Maldonado could not care for her and had no support from Brown. When Veronica was four months old, in January 2010, Brown agreed in writing that he would not contest the adoption. But within two weeks, he changed his mind and began petitioning for custody.

Someone talked him into it. After all, she might bring in extra money. Yeah, I'm jaded, so sue me.
The biological parents were not married, and Brown was in the Army in Oklahoma when Veronica was born.
South Carolina law ends a father's paternity rights when he has not provided pre-birth support or taken steps to be a father before and shortly after birth.
But the 1978 federal law that protects American Indian families from being separated trumped South Carolina law in an appellate court ruling issued in Columbia, South Carolina, on December 30.
The Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized American Indian tribe with almost 200,000 members in Oklahoma. Brown is living there with the child in his care.

I'm guessing that whoever talked him into this is helping him. Yeah I'm jaded, so sue me.
Therefore, authorities took Veronica from her adoptive parents, on December 31 and turned the toddler over to her birth father, a member of the Cherokee Nation who had sued for custody under the federal Indian Child Welfare Act.
The adoptive parents are now fighting to get her back and have filed an appeal to the South Carolina Supreme Court. Their spokeswoman, Jessica Munday said, "Matt cut the umbilical cord, and they were the first people to hold her. They're devastated. They're sitting in a house that has toys and her room, but they're not removing anything because they fully believe in their hearts that she will come home."
Chrissi Nimmo, Cherokee Nation assistant attorney general, told an Oklahoma television station last week: "The Indian Child Welfare Act says the most vital resource to the continued existence of tribes are their children."
Attorneys for the Cherokee Nation and Brown have filed a motion for a gag order to prevent the Capobiancos from talking about the case, and the couple is cooperating.
Apparently they don't want to see any more interviews on television with Matt Capobianco, when he told local WCIV-TV: "It's awful. Everybody keeps saying how bad they feel for us, but she's a 2-year-old girl who got shoved in a truck and driven to Oklahoma with strangers," or Melanie Capobianco saying, "I wonder what she's doing, if she's afraid, and we wish we could be there if she's afraid."
Tugs at the heart strings in a really big way.

More school follies

In her desire to have a two week vacation in Costa Rica, a New York City school teacher, Joan Barnett, has lost her job. She was fired from her job as a parent coordinator at the Manhattan High School of Hospitality Management. Let me tell you why.

She told school officials her daughter died in Costa Rica and that she had to travel there in March 2010. She then compounded this idiocy by submitting a fake death certificate.

Apparently an eagle-eyed school official became suspicious of the forged death certificate. A special investigator's report says it had different fonts that were misaligned.

Joan not only pretended that her daughter died over spring break in 2010, she even had another daughter call the school and lie about her sister having a heart attack. Providing the fake certificate of death as backup was her error, since it was a sloppy forgery.

A Costa Rica government official later confirmed the document was a fake, noting it dated from 2005.

The official later confirmed that they rarely -if ever- issue a death certificate in advance of a person's death.

It must also be noted here that although this story was shockingly stupid, she's not the first knucklehead employed in the educational arts who has schemed for extra time off by lying about the death of a family member.

In August 2010, a school aide in the Bronx said her Mom had died to cover up for missing three days of work. An issue with the death certificate in that case also led to her ultimately being fired.

More recently, in Chicago, a recent investigation revealed that fraud and improper use of school district money by public school employees led to a $1 million loss of funds. Some of the fraud included employees illegally collecting sick time and vacation benefits.

Even the Girl Scouts of the USA were tainted with scandal this year when a New York area finance director was found to have embezzled $310,000 worth of the nonprofit's funds. Like Barnett, she too had a taste for leisure, spending a significant portion of the stolen funds on a luxury cruise.

Despite the fact that teachers are usually given a three month summer break, it clearly wasn't enough for her.

Compared to a national average of just 14 days of vacation time a year, one of the perks of working in education is more time off from holidays, including summer break.

Let's not overlook the greed factor here. In addition to that, how do we expect the kids to learn anything when some of the adults manning the teaching positions are so damned dumb?

Well, they were in court on Friday, and each of the skunks had their own high priced attorneys.
All of them were represented by heavy hitter attorneys (San Diego expensive attorneys) and if their attorneys are any good they'll get off.
Further, I know people are allegedly innocent until proven guilty, yet these insider politicians stink to high heaven.
If anyone still believes these board members are innocent, that's a moot point now; their reputations are caca from this day foward.
We already discussed this earlier and reported here these idiot board members were arrested for bribery and malfeasance charges.
In other words, not for being angels.
Whatever is going on they've "lawyered up" and frankly this doesn't look good.
The part that troubles me is all of the accused are either Chicano or Philipino, not good.
Sweetwater defense attorneys speak up
Four current and former Sweetwater schools officials pleaded not guilty to a barrage of charges on Friday, raising the curtain on the largest public-corruption case to jolt San Diego County in years.

Sweetwater trustees Arlie Ricasa and Pearl Quinones each face up to five years in state prison if convicted of felony perjury and filing false statements. Ricasa also was charged with wrongful influence.
Not good.
Here's the thing, whenever an ethnic politician gets any kind of power is San Diego, they always get caught doing something wrong.

Meet Beezow Doo Doo Zopittybop Bop Bop. He used to be Jeffrey Drew Wilschke, until last October. Perhaps he was kicked in the head by an elephant.
Unfortunately this knucklehead got all the way to age 30 without learning a whole hell of a lot.
He not only failed to choose a decent name, he also failed to steer clear of a life of crime.
Zoopittybop Bop Bop has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and a violation of probation. Naturally, he was arrested.
Mr. Zopittybop Bop Bop has a Facebook page. He lists his activities and interests as "eating" "standing" "walking" "thinking" and "diamond."
I hate to jump to conclusions here but I'm getting the impression that Zippity Doo Dah wasn't doing much thinking, yes?
Zopittybop Bop Bop was apprehended by authorities after neighbors complained of "excessive drinking and drug use" around a local park.
Police said that when they took Zopittybop Bop Bop into custody, he allegedly told them that he would eventually "get even with them."

I'm thinking that they'll add "threatening to his list of idiocies.
This isn't his first brush with the law. Last April when he was plain old Jeffrey, he was arrested in another park after police found a loaded handgun in his backpack.

Evidently Zippity Doo Dah has no idea how to behave when amongst other humans.

Last year my sister wrote about a stupid, stupid woman who posted an extremely offensive sign on the gate leading to the swimming pool at the duplex she owns. It said, "Public Swimming Pool, White Only."
Michael Gunn -a former tenant- filed a complaint with the Ohio Civil Rights Commission against this stupid woman, Jamie Hein. He brought his 10-year-old biracial daughter to a Memorial Day weekend pool party on Hein's property attended by about 20 other guests.
Gunn said Hein later questioned him about the "chemicals" his daughter used in her hair and blamed the girl, the only non-Caucasian at the party, for making the pool water "cloudy."
He told the commission that about a week later he saw the "white only" sign on the gate leading to the pool. He said he and his fianceé decided to move away immediately so "as not to expose my daughter to the sign and humiliation."
As part of the commission's investigation, Gunn produced copies of texts he said Hein had sent to his fiancé shortly after the family moved out, blaming "grease" in his daughter's hair for the cloudy condition of the pool.
After an investigation into the blatant ignorance that had been displayed, the Civil Rights Commission ruled last September that the hooplehead had violated the law when she hung the sign.

Well, as expected, the hooplehead appealed the ruling. However, because not everyone is as stupid as she is, she lost her appeal.
The commission voted 4-0 against reconsidering its finding from last fall. There was no discussion.
The ruling clears the way for the case to be referred to the state attorney general's office for possible state civil charges and the possibility of being forced to pay compensatory and punitive damages.
Hopefully she'll be forced to mortgage or remortgage her property to pay what I hope is a hefty fine. Yeah, that's mean, so what?

The commission also dismissed the pendeja's claim that it was simply a decorative antique.
She had told the commission she received the sign from a friend. Ronnell Tomlinson, the commission's housing enforcement director, said that it was an antique. Apparently at the bottom of the sign it says, "Selma, Alabama," followed by the date "14 July 31."

The commission still felt it was stupid.
So to this sonsa, it's okay to post a reminder that certain parts of this country were ignorant non-thinkers? I'm thinking that it's just a reminder that some people still are.

Six people died in the early hours Saturday after a cruise ship ran aground in the Mediterranean which forced the coast guard to evacuate over 4,000 people.
The Costa Concordia hit a reef near the Isola del Giglio late Friday. The local mayor said he feared further casualties as it was proving difficult to rescue the last passengers.
One of the victims was a man in his 70s who died of a heart attack caused by the shock to his system when he jumped into the icy waters.
What a fucked up way to go.
At least 3,200 passengers and 1,000 crew members have been evacuated. However around 200 people were still on board and awaiting rescue.
Passengers initially heard a large bang and were initially told the ship had shuddered to a halt for electrical reasons, before being told to put on their life-jackets.
So which is it? Are they liars or simply not know what's going on with their ship?

Some passengers jumped into the sea in their hurry to get off the sinking ship.
Mayor Sergio Ortelli said they were trying to find room to accommodate the rescued passengers, including pregnant women and children. He said, "We are trying to accommodate them anywhere we can, in schools, nurseries, hotels, anywhere that has a roof." He added that some passengers were even bedding down for the night in the church.
The Costa Crociera company, which owns the vessel, said that it was not yet possible to say what caused the problem, but that the evacuation had been fast.
Read the newspapers and watch the news guys, the ship hit a reef.

This is about Chaz Bono and his latest quest. He was very forthcoming in his Rolling Stone interview and shared his desires. He says he's saving his pennies to pay for a metoidioplasty procedure. That means he's buying a penis.
He says, "I could get a phalloplasty, which builds the phallus from a donor site on your body, but I'm leaning more toward a metoidioplasty. It's a procedure that uses what you already have down there, which has grown larger from the testosterone. You end up with a smaller phallus than with the phalloplasty, but it's fully functional, it gets erect, and the sensation is all there."
Bono, who broke up with his fiancé in December, goes into specifics about the size he can expect Little Chaz to be (three inches), and also explains the procedure's hefty price tag.
Because he felt that we needed to know, he had more to say with, "… the surgery I want to have, I'd like to have the testicular implants and all of that, and I'd like to be able to urinate through it. I mean, it's not that big a deal to sit down, but some of the toilet seats in men's rooms are disgusting. The doctor I want to use is in Belgrade. It's going to be a little cheaper there. Frankly I'm tired of it.
I may be in the minority, but then I've been writing about the Inzunzas for quite some time, years in fact.
I have also personally observed the wreckage of their actions as well, not a pretty sight.
In either case the younger of the Inzunza brothers will finally go to jail, maybe prison, jail is for a smaller amount of time.
Thing is this worm has been enjoying freedom for years after he was found guilty petty crimes.
Thing is he has been fighting this since 2008!
Now, it seems as though he is finally headed to jail or perhaps prison, who knows?
One can only hope.
The thing is this kind of thing really chaps my hide, so much promise, so much opportunity to do good and what does this greedy worm do?

Ralph Inzunza Denied Final Appeal on Corruption Charges
After years of appealing his 2005 conviction, former San Diego City Councilman Ralph Inzunza will go to prison for political corruption.
Inzunza was convicted of taking bribes in exchange for help in repealing the “no-touch” ordinance at strip clubs.
After the verdict, Inzunza vowed to fight to reverse the conviction.
For six years, he filed appeal after appeal until Friday when his final appeal was denied.
Now, the former city leader faces a 21-month prison sentence.
I guess if you want to contact him you need to send a letter to jail.
He'll be there for 21 months.

The list includes Borough presidents, ex-Mayors, State Representatives, homeless people, dead people, school children, their disenfranchised parents and so forth.
Mayor Bloomberg is mentioned several times but in the context of someone else's powerlessness, not his.

Colossal Waste

Priscilla of Boston, a designer wedding dress shop is closing all 19 locations after 65 years. For those that give a shit, they outfitted Grace Kelly's bridesmaids. As you can imagine, they have a lot of gowns to dispose of. So then, what did they do instead of donating them to the financially embarrassed? They destroyed them. On December 30th, employees spray-painted the expensive gowns and threw them in the trash so no one could wear them.

Appalled witnesses caught male workers destroying tens of thousands of dollars of high-end merchandise, including prized Vera Wang dresses. The Daily Mail reports that both local shop owners and customers were shocked that the store could be so thoughtless and wasteful.
Onlooker Sheila Roth, took picturess of the dresses, shoes, and mannequins still in full attire. She then asked Priscilla of Boston employees why the inventory was being destroyed rather than donated. She said that she was told that it was a "corporate decision." You know, the usual bullshit about "contracts with the labels."
Once the story was out there, Priscilla of Boston released this weaselly statement about the waste:
"Priscilla of Boston has always donated quality bridal gowns to a variety of charitable causes. We do not, however, donate unsaleable dresses that are damaged, soiled or in otherwise poor condition." But witnesses said the only damage they could see was the spray paint.
Well, that's a pile of steaming horse shit considering that they're the ones who damaged the dresses.

Properly chastised and getting bad press, parent company David's Bridal took addressed the complaints and agreed to donate the remaining gowns. There statement to Today.com was:
"Like many of you, we were disheartened by imagery of a small number of unsold bridal gowns being destroyed following a Priscilla of Boston salon closure in the Midwest. As the parent company of Priscilla of Boston, we fully understand the anger and frustration that many people are feeling about this occurrence.
While it has been Priscilla of Boston's policy not to make donations of sample dresses that are in poor condition, we recognize that some of these dresses could possibly have gone to worthy causes. David's Bridal has already begun bringing together all of the remaining Priscilla of Boston gowns to evaluate them and ensure that they are donated to our charitable partners wherever possible. From all of us at David's Bridal, we truly appreciate hearing your sentiments. We believe that every bride deserves a beautiful gown, and we will continue to honor that commitment."
I also remain appalled at the arrogance it took to consider this as a good idea as opposed to donations.

Aspiring model for who, what? Hustler or Playboy? Oh wait, maybe she plans to be the next Anna Nicole Smith, yes?

Sydney Spies a high school senior in Durango, Colorado made an appearance on the "Today Show" with her mother to discuss what they see as a censorship issue.

Sydney was whining that the photo she had submitted for her high school year book was rejected, as was the second photo she followed it up with.

She's not happy that the Durango High School's yearbook staff denied both for for being "unprofessional" and "inappropriate."

Spies, 18, and her mother Miki Spies, told "Today Show" host Matt Lauer that they still believe the photo best describes Spies' personality and that they won't submit a "boring" photo for her senior portrait.

Okay, so it's official. Both mother and daughter have their heads up their asses. Were they planning to add the yearbook to her portfolio?

The yearbook staff did make an offer to her when they rejected the photos.

They told Sydney that they will run her photos if she is willing to buy the ad space in the back of the yearbook for $300. But she doesn't care for that idea.

To that she said, "If it's going to be in the yearbook anyway, then why should I not be able to have it as my senior picture?"

Yes, obtuseness evidently runs in the family,

As the story has spread however, the Spies have been dealing with both supportive and outraged segments of the public. Since the Durango Herald first broke the story January 5, Spies has said she had to create a Facebook fan page because her personal account shut down under the new weight of friend requests.

On her new Facebook page she wrote, "I want people to know that freedom of expression is essential and censoring yearbooks and people is wrong.page. I am a fun, loving, determined, outgoing, caring, tenacious person that is willing to go through whatever it takes to make a point. The controversy over my yearbook photograph has become quite the scandal and I believe that we have the right to express ourselves in any form. Love it or hate it, this is who I am."

She also told Denver 9News, "Some people might think it's a little bit sexy or inappropriate. But I think it's artistic. I think it's a good expression of who I am as a person."

Well, about all that can be said about her at this point is that she is after all, 18 and as with most 18 year olds, they really don't know much. However, as uncustomary it is for me to be nice, I'm going to give this knucklehead the benefit of the doubt and say that she might not yet know that pouty lips and asses stuck out is sliding into "Hustler territory." Her mother, however, as an adult, should know better, or at least know the definition of "appropriate for a yearbook."

Meet 45 year old Alisha Halfmoon from Tulsa, Oklahoma. She needs help. LOTS of help. I'm not talking about her apparently lack of hygiene either, of course she needs help there as well.

What I'm talking about is her obvious delusions that she could get away with trying to mix up a batch of meth near the bathroom at a Walmart store.

Yes, meth.

She evidently caught the eye of Walmart rent-a-cops as she suspiciously gathered the chemicals she felt she needed for her potion.

When she began mixing, they called the real cops who showed up to arrest her. She reportedly told police she was too broke to buy the chemicals.

She was booked without bond on a complaint of endeavoring to manufacture.

One officer may have burned by sulfuric acid that had resulted from a chemical reaction in the box of items taken from the scene, Anderson said.

What? Tulsa doesn't have Hazmat personnel?

The evidence collected at the scene included Lithium and drain cleaner, but no pseudoephedrine.

Police said she had just been released from jail after being arrested last month on charges of obtaining controlled drugs by forged script and possession of controlled drugs.

Shopper Jessica Fuentes who was in the store with her child said, "People need to start thinking. If she has family she needs to think about her family. If you are broke, do something; get a job, do something better with your life. Don't do something like that. It's just wrong."

Hopefully Jessica will educate herself better regarding meth addicts and their lack of thinking far enough ahead to "get a job" before her child is old enough to think for himself. Being a disciple of the idiotic applehead is going to get her nowhere fast, except when talking to children in a photo-op.

4) Even James Harrison might be a little scared of the Pittsburgh Steelers fan on page #5. The 30-year-old Arizonan was popped yesterday for armed robbery;
5) The “fast life” of the 56-year-old Georgian on page #8 was put on hold after cops arrested him for assault and obstructing officers;
Some people are never too old to stop causing trouble, case in point.
6) The Texas gentleman, 38, on page #9 was nailed today for driving with an invalid license and no insurance; and 7) The Georgia man, 31, on page #14 was jailed Sunday for driving with an invalid license. As for that vulgarity, at least it was only on his shirt, not his forehead.
And, the woman seen below was busted for criminal mischief, at least she looks the part.

You must admit, at least she's not without her spirit.

You know, shoplifting of $2,500 in clothes from the Nieman Marcus in San Francisco.

The lawyer for a California lawmaker sentenced to three years of probation for shoplifting said a benign brain tumor is responsible for his client trying to steal $2,500 in clothes from the Nieman Marcus in San Francisco.
Shortly after her arrest, a spokesman for the Democratic lawmaker said she was distracted by a ringing cell phone and forgot to pay for the clothing, which included leather pants, a white blouse and black skirt.
However, after her court appearance, attorney Douglas Rappaport expanded on the brain tumor story, he said, “Now that Ms. Hayashi’s medical condition resulting in her arrest has been taken care of, she decided that she would resolve the case as well. It is being treated,” he added. “It’s no longer affecting her concentration or her judgment.”
Hiyashi struck a deal with the court in which her charge was reduced from felony grand theft to a misdemeanor in exchange for changing her plea from not guilty to no contest.
Because they failed to get on the same page, the explanation the lawyer and the one the spokesman gave didn't match. The spokesman confirmed the tumor, but said, “It did not play a role in her forgetfulness and distraction in accidentally walking out.”
Hayashi was elected in 2006 and will be term limited out this year.

Oh well, it beats getting trounced at the polls.

When the entertainer Cher launched an expletive on live broadcast television in 2002, she probably had little idea she was triggering a major test of the government's ability to regulate content over the public airwaves.

On Tuesday, the Supreme Court will hear arguments in a case stemming from celebrities' use of isolated expletives as well as images of partial nudity during primetime broadcast programming.
Too much control I say, so what if someone says the F-word, does it really matter?
OK, I suppose it matters to some, clearly not to me.
The case involves Cher's use of the F word on a Fox broadcast of the Billboard Music Awards and a similar outburst the following year on the same awards show by actress Nicole Richie.

The Court will also review an episode of ABC's "NYPD Blue" that featured a seven- second shot of an adult woman's nude buttocks. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC), charged with regulating public airwaves, found that the incidents violated its prohibitions against the broadcast of indecent material before 10 p.m.
Note to Supremes, don't you have enough real issues to contemplate?
In my opinion, this is a back burner issue, not something you need to waste precious court time on.
I'm in the minority because most Americans see this as indecency, they're mixed up; indecency is what is happening in America right now.
Lack of jobs, jobs sent overseas for profit of the company over jobs for Americans.
Lack of health care, lack of choice, shitty educations, Wall Street bonuses, banks shitting on customers etc.

The Blue Bra

She has written about the atrocities against women all over the world, more often that not, religion is at the core of the oppression.
Here are some highlights from her most recent posting.

The young Egyptian woman in the photo included here was beaten, stomped on and nearly stripped by the military during a recent demonstration. Aside from the sheer brutality, what stood out was that she was wearing this gorgeous, sexy, bright blue bra. Under her abaya.

There was something so shocking about it, so unexpected. This person covered from head to toe demonstrated her beliefs through her choice of underwear. The blue bra said what I imagine her to be feeling: “I may be oppressed. I may not have rights. I may have to cover up my body and face. But you cannot destroy my womanhood. You can’t rob me of my femininity. You can’t take away my power.”
That blue bra, to me, was the ultimate symbol of women’s power, the one thing that threatens men above all. It makes them so crazy that over the centuries they have encoded it into their religions that women are kept down and denied the same freedoms that men have. There are very few religions where women have not been oppressed.
Men know that women’s sexuality is something they cannot live without; it is something that renders them powerless. Women can have babies, women can breastfeed, women are the lifegivers. The blue bra is a bold statement of that.
The blue bra resonated with demonstrators in Egypt. Some have replaced the eagle in the center of the Egyptian flag with a blue bra. When the incident incited a protest by women two weeks ago, the hashtag BlueBra was used on Twitter to help organize it. More and more there are blue bra moments, not just in Egypt but around the world.

A young woman in Egypt who was given a “virginity test” when she was arrested last March has courageously filed a criminal case against the military. This week, the Egyptian court banned virginity tests in jail.
A woman is running for president of Egypt.
In Israel, there have been protests after a young woman was asked to sit in the back of the bus in an ultra-Orthodox neighborhood. She refused and has become a heroine among moderate Israelis.
In Iran, women can be arrested if they are not totally covered. Even President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, seeing the writing on the wall, is trying to promote attractive government-approved fashions for women. An Egyptian designer said, “Again we face a situation in which a small group will decide for all women what is allowed and what is not.”

The Egyptian woman in the blue bra has not come forward. She has been criticized for protesting in public and for not wearing more clothes under her abaya. (She was also wearing jeans.)

Before everyone begins slamming Islam for so much oppression, let's not forget that the Catholic Church turned Mary Magdalene, who might very well have been Jesus Christ’s lover, life companion, “soulmate” and first among apostles, and turned her into a whore.
Why? So she could be "saved" and be a repentant whore.
In the words of Cynthia Bourgeault, who wrote, The Meaning of Mary Magdalene: Discovering the Woman at the Heart of Christianity, “there is certainly more than a fair share of misogyny and slander.”

If only Mary Magdalene had had the blue bra.

Pedro Armindariz Jr....

...has died.
He was 71, which isn't all that old however he was no spring chicken.
Yet he lived a full life achieving a certain amount of fame in American movies.
Most American audiences have enjoyed his work throughout the years but probably could not name him off the top of their heads.
Eh, one Latino actor is as good as another some might say.
Clearly that is wrong however Hollywood promotes stereotypes as a shorthand of sorts because apparently to them there is no money in Latino movies.
Christ, how backward can one be?
The obituary was found in the Washington Post
MEXICO CITY — Mexican character actor Pedro Armendariz Jr. died Monday at the age of 71. There was no immediate confirmation of the cause of death.

Armendariz was best known for playing sly, sometimes cynical characters he endowed with wit and charisma. Armendariz played Gov. Riley in the 2005 movie “The Legend of Zoro,” and had roles in 1989’s “Old Gringo” and “Once Upon a Time in Mexico” in 2003.

We mark his passing by including some of the obituary here.

President Felipe Calderon’s office issued a statement lamenting Armendariz’ death, calling him “a great actor who reflected well on Mexico at home and abroad.”
The Mexican government news agency Notimex reported he died in New York City of cancer, but said his family had asked for their privacy to be respected.
He acted in more than 100 films, including the Mexican hit “The Crime of Father Amaro.”
Consuelo Saizar, the president of Mexico’s National Arts Council, lamented the death of Armendariz in her twitter account.
He had been married and divorced twice and is survived by several children.
Armendariz’ father bore the same name and was a movie star during the “golden age” of Mexican films in the 1940s and 50s.
His father was the Armendariz we first fell in love with back in the day.
He was a Mexican movie star that appeared in several American films, and he was deliciously sexy in all the correct ways.
Needless to say the Pedro 2.0 was OK looking I guess, but nothing could top the original.

Sadly the Latino heartthrob was always a type, an empty shell, and only served as a foil or a backdrop for the real hero usually the gringo, but what can one do, that was then this is now.
So we acknowledge the death of Pedro and remember him in a moment of silence, he did lend a certain amount of respect to any role he approached, infused it with dignity and humanity and we did appreciate his many talents.
Rest in peace Senor Armindariz.

Bill Johnson has been described as a "conservative Christian politician." I however would describe him as a hypocritical philistine.

Anyway, he traveled to New Zealand and spent the better part of last year helping victims of an earthquake. However, his help extended beyond the usual help. It seems that he also helped women get pregnant by donating his sperm.
Johnson once ran for governor of Alabama, campaigning against gay marriage. This is why his sperm donations to lesbian couples is so very interesting.
He's known online as "chchbill", where he advertises his services. At least three women are pregnant from his donations, and he admits supplying three others, and is in talks with more. That's in violation of the "guidelines" of local fertility practices, which recommend that donations be made only in regulated medical clinics, and that no more than four women are ...uh... serviced by any one man.
After the Herald on Sunday revealed he had gotten three women pregnant and made donations to three more, he flew home to his wife and family.
Johnson shared with a reporter that his wife already had three children and can't have more, and being a father was "a need that I have," and that "reproduction and having children is as basic a human need as eating."
It seems that this menso has confused "needing" with "wanting."
As if the sperm drama wasn't enough, he was issued a federal subpoena to testify about alleged payments to the Alabama Republican administration in which he had been a senior official. The scandal has been called the biggest US corruption court case in years.
The saga sprawling across three Southern states now involves casino kingpins and a Native American tribe and even claims Dubya's former right-hand man Karl Rove orchestrated a smear campaign against Johnson, who has been ordered to testify as a whistleblower against his old boss, former Alabama Governor Bob Riley.
A source said Johnson's testimony would not be taken seriously because of fallout from the sperm donation story.
A political blogger has alleged that senior GOPs, possibly including Rove, tipped off the Herald on Sunday to Johnson's actions in Christchurch.
Well of course they did. Herr Rover wrote the playbook on how to pull off the most egregious dirty tricks.

Just as I had wrapped my feverish brain around the idea of dieting, I stumbled across this. As interesting as it is however, it still didn't derail my foray into fruits and vegetables. After all, if I don't stop gobbling up bread and other fat laden foods I'll be what Dad used to refer to as "pushed all out of shape."

Ten years ago plus-size models averaged between size 12 and 18. Today the need for size diversity within the plus-size modeling industry continues to be questioned. The majority of plus-size models on agency boards are between a size 6 and 14, while the customers continue to express their dissatisfaction.
Most runway models meet the Body Mass Index physical criteria for Anorexia.
50% of women wear a size 14 or larger, but most standard clothing outlets cater to sizes 14 or smaller.

If we continue to ignore and rely on others to decide what we want to see, change will never happen. We have to be vocal and proactive, patient and realistic.
The answer to the question is this, there is nothing wrong with our bodies. We are bombarded with weight-loss ads every single day, multiple times a day because it’s a multi-billion dollar industry that preys on the fear of being fat. Not everyone is meant to be skinny, our bodies are beautiful and we are not talking about health here because not every skinny person is healthy.
What we desire is equality to shop and have fashion options just like smaller women. Small women cannot be marketed to with pictures of plus-size women, why are we expected to respond to pictures of small size 6 and 8 women? We don’t!When the plus size modeling industry began, the models ranged in size from 14 to 18/20, and as customers we long for those days when we identify with the models and feel happy about shopping.

There's stupid, really stupid and really, really stupid. I'll let you decide which Phil Parkinson is.
He's the founder of a fitness gym who was forced to apologize after he posted a series of extremely offensive images on the Internet to promote his gym. He included a photo of a notorious Nazi concentration camp with the slogan: “Kiss your calories goodbye.”
Parkinson runs the Circuit Factory’s Facebook group. Within hours of uploading 10 images, he had removed four of them as a storm of protest erupted on Facebook and Twitter, where criticism of the images ranged from “tasteless” to “despicable.”
A member of the online group posted, “Phil, this is out of control!”
Parkinson, who is British, and apparently quite ignorant, posted the images to Facebook under the title “New Poster Campaign – aka Politically Correct.”
One of the first ones he removed amid the Internet uproar was the black-and-white photo of the rail tracks leading to Auschwitz II–Birkenau, the network of concentration and extermination camps where Hitler’s Nazis murdered an estimated 1.3 million people between 1942 and 1944.
The clearly out of touch Parkinson said he was sorry when it was pointed out to him that his head was lodged up his ass.
But not before he compounded his obtuseness with this explanation: “I apologize if I have offended anyone with the campaign. The way branding works is … you want people talking about your business. We want them talking about us, but we don’t want people to take offense at it. That was certainly not my intention when we created it. You put strong ideas across, and if they’ve been poorly received then I apologize.”
Apparently his stupidity led him to believe that using an image of Auschwitz to advertise weight-loss and exercise classes was appropriate saying, “it’s like a calorie concentration camp.”
On his Twitter account, he posted many apologies and tweeted: “Apologies for the insane poster campaign that was put up this morning. The creative guy has been told where to go.”
The Holocaust poster wasn't the only advertisement for The Circuit Factory that was subsequently deleted from the page due to criticism. Three others were taken off, including a poster with a picture of a full toilet. And not a toilet full of water.
While Parkinson might actually believe that "all press is good press" it's disheartening to know that he and others feel that making a light-hearted Holocaust reference is harmless.

Check your shampoo bottle label. I don't know WHY I didn't figure this out sooner. It's the shampoo I use in the shower! When I wash my hair, the shampoo runs down my whole body and (duh!) printed very clearly on the shampoo label is this warning:

No wonder I have been gaining weight! Well! I have gotten rid of that shampoo and I am going to start using Dawn dish soap instead. Their label reads,

Battling a five year old is never a good thing

This is 5 year old Michael Davis. He occasionally gets into fights at Rio Calaveras Elementary School in Stockton, California. His mother Thelma Gray blames his behavior on attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
One fine day his teachers suggested that he meet with a school police officer, Lieutenant Frank Gordo, in the hope that a uniformed presence might "scare the kid straight" and curb his disruptive behavior.
What could go wrong?
Well, when the police officer put his hand on Michael's, hand everything went south.
In his report of the meeting, the officer admits he touched Michael's hand, and the boy "pushed my hand away in a batting motion, pushed papers off the table, and kicked me in the right knee."
Unable to calm the boy or scare him straight, the officer zip-tied his hands and feet and charged him with battery on a police officer. Then, without informing the boy's parents, he tossed him in the back of his police car and hauled him to the Stockton Kaiser Psychiatric Hospital for an evaluation.
A juvenile court judge dismissed the criminal charge, and a Grand Jury and the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights are investigating the incident.
His mother, Thelma, said she "was led to believe that Michael saw a police officer and attacked a police officer on sight," and only learned that he had been handcuffed several weeks later after reading the report.
Both the Stockton Unified School District and the police force were willing to comment.
The case has been met with disbelief in the city of Stockton, which is not far from the University of California Davis, where a police officer was filmed theatrically pepper spraying protesting students.
I'm thinking that perhaps the entire police force in that neck of the woods need training.

Kids, guns and cops...never a good mix

Okay, here's a really tough question: What will usually happen when someone points a gun at a cop?

Well, whether we like it or not, or agree or not, the established protocol is that the cops will shoot back. Everyone knows that. However, the fact that the cops shot Jaime Gonzalez, a 15 year old eighth grade student holding a pellet gun inside of a school, makes it big news.

Hmm, interesting age for eighth grade. I was 14 in the ninth grade.
Anyway, the student had been seen with a weapon at Cummings Middle School during first period this past Wednesday.
According to Brownsville Police, Jaime threatened school administrators with the pellet gun. Police were called after Jaime walked into one room and randomly punched a classmate in the nose, apparently at random. That's when school officials saw the weapon.
Of course Jaime's godmother, Norma Navarro has another story.

She said, “We were told that he took it away from another child that brought it into the school and Jaime was turning it in to the principal's office.”
Interesting. I wonder who told her that.
Even more interesting is the 911 call from the school that's been released.

On the recording the assistant principal says a student in the hall has a gun, then reports that he is drawing the weapon, refusing to drop it and finally that he is running down the hall.
Before police arrived, school administrators had urged Jaime to give up the gun. He refused. When officers got to the school, the boy was waiting for them.
On the recording, police can be heard yelling: "Put the gun down! Put it on the floor!" In the background, someone else yells, "He's saying that he is willing to die."
It wasn't until after Jaime was shot that it was discovered that the weapon was a pellet gun.
See, that's the thing, if the cops even think you have a real gun, they'll shoot you.
Just like armed robbery, whether or not the gun you used is fake, it's still armed robbery.
Jaime's father has said he didn't know where his son got the pellet gun. Police believed it was a gift, and a friend of the boy's said Jaime told her that but she didn't know who gave it to him.
His parents have lamented police for their actions, saying they could have taken non-lethal action. But there was broad agreement among law enforcement experts: If a suspect raises a weapon and refuses to put it down, officers are justified in shooting to kill.
Brownsville interim Police Chief Orlando Rodriguez defended his officers, saying the boy pointed the pellet gun — which was black and resembled a real gun — at police and repeatedly defied their commands to put it on the floor.
The parents can lament all they want, but the fact is that a 15 year old kid who has both oars in the water and respects authority would not wave even a pellet gun at school officials, let alone at the cops.
Bottom line, if cops have their guns drawn it's always best to comply since history has shown us that they shoot first and ask questions later.

Salma Hayak to play Maria Felix?

Apparently there is controversy brewing over whether or not Salma, we're on first name terms, can play la Dona so revered in Mexico.
I don't know what all the fuss is about anyway, seems to me Salma is perfectly suited to play the narcissistic Ms. Felix.
Looks like Ms. Felix wasn't all that fond of Ms. Hayak, what a crack up, looks like Ms. Felix was deeply steeped in her own press clipping because she dumped on poor Salma somehow insinuating she wasn't up to snuff, apparently her particular brand of snuff.
Back in the day she was certainly hot stuff in Mexico, but her particular brand didn't quite wash in all white America, she wanted leading lady roles and in those days there was no such thing as leading lady roles for any ordinary Mexican.
Even the great Gilbert Roland was a side kick of sorts.
Fast forward to 2012, America is much more tolerant of diversity, at least on paper, therefor a Salma or a Jennifer or even an Antonio is accommodated these days.
I think Salma would do just fine in a biopic of the snotty and "classist" Maria Felix, give me a break Maria, you're not the Virgin Mary.
Salma Hayek to Play La Doña María Félix in Iconic Biopic
Buxom beauty Salma Hayek will soon be starring as the iconic La Doña María Félix in a biopic film, entertainment site Enelbrasero.com is reporting.
Hayek, 44, who also played the legendary Mexican painter Frida Kahlo back in 2002, will be producing the film with Oliver Stone.
Enelbrasero reports that the script has been ready for five years and production is underway.
Well, get to it, five years is long enough.
